Misenus

In Greek mythology, there were two people called Misenus.

  1. A friend of Odysseus
  2. A companion of Hector and, after his death, Aeneas' trumpeter. He challenged Triton in a trumpet contest, who drowned him after Triton won. Cape Misenum was named after him (Aeneid 3.172; 6.224-250).
